inSo… basically, this guy uses a long musket to try and shoot up a modern day office. He walks in (unopposed) and shoots, missing his target.
The video then asks: “Guns have changed, shouldn’t our gun laws change too?”
Obviously the answer is a resounding: NO. For one thing, plenty of technology has changed since the 1780s, from computers, to televisions, to offices, the whole bloody world! But for some reason, improvements in firearms technology = bad, thus while every other technological advance is protected by the Constitution and its Amendments, guns are excluded… because they’re scary… or something.
The other thing to take note here is that in the alternate universe where this video takes place, gun laws are nonexistant. This guy probably can’t buy a revolver, or a shotgun, or a rifle. So he’s stuck with muzzleloading rifles? Shoot… if he were stuck with just that, why doesn’t he take the black powder, some nails, and some pipe and just throw that all over the office? Why waste time with a rifle like that? Heck, even if he only intended to kill one person, why not shoot and use the bayonet? I mean really, just run through the guy. At least you’ll get him.

From Facebook:
The first post reads: “Its my new 9mm with laser sight”
The second reads: “on the way to hospital, just shot my foot”
I laughed, but folks, and especially first time gun owners, read the manual, get some training, and just ask someone in the know. At the very least, watch a YouTube on gun safety.

Saw this today on my WordPress feed, its from a YT Channel by Julie Borowski. She is a smart, well-spoken, and funny young libertarian woman who works as a policy analyst and activist.
She takes on many current topics like Gun Control, minimum wage, and the lack of female libertarians (which I thought was funny as hell). I suggest ya’ll head over and take a look!

Jobless mother of 11 (yes, you read that right, 11 kids) who was already given two free homes is being given a free state of the art mansion for her brood. Large windows, new construction, and six bedrooms. Oh, ready for the kicker?
But Miss Frost, 37, who is also a grandmother, said the move is still subject to her approving the two-storey accommodation with its 355sq ft kitchen and dining area.
You read that right… not only are they building this for her, for free, but she has to approve it too.

The Christian Monitor is reporting that President Obama is re-focusing military efforts from the Middle East to the Pacific:
The shift has implications for the services, too, particularly as America’s decade-long wars in Iraq and Afghanistan come to an end. The Army and Marine Corps have been the go-to branches during this time. Now it is the Navy to which the Pentagon will be increasingly turning.
Currently, half of the Navy’s ships are stationed in the Asia-Pacific region. This helps the US build relationships in the region, as well as reassure allies, says Adm. Jonathan Greenert, chief of naval operations.
Even as the threat of defense cuts loomed, resulting in calls to decrease the size of the Navy’s aircraft-carrier fleet from 11 to 10, Secretary Panetta pushed back, citing the need for a Navy “able to penetrate enemy defenses.”
Basically, we’re going to spend billions of dollars we don’t have to antagonize the regions most powerful nation, which is also the nation which buys our debt and lets us spend the billions we don’t have.
The funny thing is: at this point, China doesn’t even need to fire a shot at the US to win a fight, it just needs to stop buying our cheap debt…
